I am not really understanding on how to get low proper sounds from my subs. I have 2 klipsch s-12 downfiring (not the KSW) and the ksw10d just bought. I have a Pioneer 1019ah and the ps3 slim. How can I get the best base. I have the rf-62 fronts from klipsch. Please send any info that would be great.

There are many things that effect how good a bass you can get, from the room its in, to the sub enclosure, driver size, reverb, ported or sealed. I have found most store bought subs (like Klipsch to be just average) I would look at frequency response graphs to see how flat and linear the bass is before it falls like a rock, which will determine how good it is. Take my DefTech Prosub 800 it drops right at 38Hz so I use it only to 40Hz, while my SVS handles all the real low bass down to 20Hz.

BTW a majority of soundtracks are recorded from 30-120Hz for bass with only a few going real low (Tranformers, Cloverfield, U-571.... ) so for most of your listening a good sub that goes down to at least 30Hz will be just fine, but subs like SVS, ED, Epik and Hsu wil get you that real clean bass down to 20Hz and in some cases even lower.

Nothing can be improved upon without the proper information, and in this case, the proper information is acoustical data from the inside of your room. So, you need to know what the frequency response is at your listening position. This is a great tool that will provide you with the data you need.
