Existing In-Ceiling Speakers in New House

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and I don't have much audio setup experience. I'm closing on a new house tomorrow and it's got an existing home audio setup that includes existing in-ceiling speakers throughout the living room and kitchen and speaker wires coming out of the wall in the dining room. It's missing the receiver/amplifier so I was wondering if anyone may be able to point me in the right direction with a recommendation on what to look for when buying a receiver. This picture shows the wires coming out of the wall, presumably where the receiver should be. I really have no idea where to start, so specific examples of receivers would help. I'll be able to go to the house tomorrow to get better pictures and a count of the speakers but if anybody has any advice in the meantime I would really appreciate it. Thank you very much!

Dining room? That’s a pretty ridiculous location for a rack of audio equipment. Who’s idea was that?

Looks like you have at least 24 speakers there, that’s quite a lot. Judging from the coax cable with the RCA plug professionally taped in it looks like a number of the speakers comprise a home theater system (the RCA would be for a powered subwoofer).

Hard to get specific without knowing more, but you’re looking at, at minimum, a AV receiver with second or third zone outputs and some additional amplifiers.
