I apologize for digging up a three-year old thread, especially in my first post, but I'm looking for anyone who owns these speakers. I read through the Audioholics review from a four-speaker shootout where, while not exactly stellar, were not bad for the price. The installer who pre-wired my condo said he could sell me a 5-speaker system with a sub for dealer cost (50% of MSRP) since the manufacturer was ending production of these units.
My question is whether anyone here gave these speakers a spin in response to the generally favorable review and if 50% off an already decent price makes it a deal I can't pass up when compared to the similar SVS/HSU packages I've been looking at. I understand that I really need to listen to all of them to find which I like best (something I may just do with the return policies) but I'm very intrigued by the "dark" or "warm" description of the Unisound's for my live room with wood floors, cement block construction and planned Panny digital receiver.
