is there any amp that would be as easy to use and push out more watts for around the same price as the europower 4000

it puts out 4000 if u bridge it off to channels but there is no spec that say how many watts it puts out on one channal and i would run the amp at 3 ohms the amp can run at 2 ohms the manufacture guranntees but people say i would fry my amp running it at 1.5 ohms which is what a jl w7 runs

It is beginning to look like the EP 4000 is a rebadged EP 2500. They are getting the 4000 number by measuring differently...

The JL Audio 13w7 while great SPL wise is probably not a great choice amp wise.

Have you bought it already? If so you will probably be hard pressed to find a stable 1 ohm amp on your budget.

You would need to fabricate a circuit in series to raise the impedance of the circuit to 2 ohms or greater.

There are many driver cheaper than the 13w7 that are equal in performance.

would the amp handle 1.5 ohms?
the JL Audio 13w7 dips well below 1.5 ohms.

In fact it can get down to around 0.6 ohms at higher LFE.
you will need to add more impedance to the circuit.

Honestly I fear using any amp on that sub. I think it will chew up most amps especially at high volumes. I would only run it on one channel of an EP2500. I was kinda hoping Wmax might be able to help.

If he disagrees with me on anything do what he says.

I suggest your run the voice coils serially

and power them with the EP2500. You should be fine going that way.

It should give you plenty of power.

Build a 4.5 cubic ft box with a

folded slot port of 4.5 X 12 X 63

That will give you a tuning of 21.00hz.

This is a great driver, but way overpriced IMO. An Axis or Maelstrom would do as good for far less cost. So if you can sell the driver do it.

i think wmax has said that the w7 driver when wired in series is practically a 4ohm load.

hence, it can be run with the behringer unit in bridged mono wired in series.
