EQ adjustments help

Hey folks,

So my PSB gt-1's dip about 5 db over a fairly narrow bandwidth in couple spots (around 3khz, and 6khz). Is it as simple as raising the db level about 5db at those points at a narrow width, to achieve a flatter response?

Thanks!

I assume you saw it in this review,

Those dips look pretty significant on paper, but, when the speaker is coupled to the room, the room response is what's going to matter. Rather than correcting for speaker frequency response, correct for room response.

See my thread in this section, the Sierra 2 is damn near flat from 60Hz to 10000Hz (Ascend's published measurements) and then you look at my room response and it's like :(.

+1 to the above. You will have nulls and peaks throughout the responds due to the room itself. If you try to EQ a upper frequency like that, you would only need to move your head 1 inch for everything to change. Basically a room frequency response will change as you move your head. Better to treat the room to get a over all better room response.
