Epson HC 720 - Moves From HDMI to RGB

Hello everyone. I've had an HC 720 for about 6 months now and I absolutely love it. One minor inconvenience I'm running into happens when changing video sources (for example: PS3 to HD DTV and vice versa)
Both of these sources are connected to an Onkyo 605 via HDMI, then goes through the HDMI out to the projector. I would think that as I switch back and forth between the two video sources, my projector would stay on the HDMI input, but it ALWAYS moves from HDMI to RGB each time I select a different source. I then have to manually change the video input back to HMDI. Why would it not just stay on HDMI like it should? (Like I think it should, anyway.)
I'm using a Harmony 550 remote and have triple checked the settings for each activity. Everything is kosher there. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your responses.

It could be that when your reciever is switching sources it momentarily disconnects the HDMI feed which might make the projector default back to the RGB or go into some kind of autodetect mode. Try doing it without using the remote (just use the front panel on the reciever) and see if it still does it. I dont know how youve got the remote programmed but that will eliminate the remote having anything to do with it.

If it is some kind of autodetect or whatever, There may be a way to turn it off if you read through the manual somewhere. Worst case scenario you may also want to try calling the manufacturer and see what they have to say about it if all else fails.

If you were using something like a Universal remote you could put in a time delay and switch it back to the HDMI input after each video source switch but Im not sure if you can do that with the harmony remotes.
