I figured not many people have ever heard Epik subs as they are a fairly new company. So I thought I would post my thoughts of my new sub.
I was pretty hesitant to purchase from a company that didn't have many reviews let alone any real specs on the website. It was a toss-up for me between Epik and SVS. Ultimately I went with an Epik Tower.
I will start with their Customer Service.
Epik seems to be a company of only a handful of people. Chad, Dale, and Karen. I'm sure there's more, but these are the only ones I know of for sure. When I was researching subs a few months ago, I decided to give Epik a call. I spoke with Chad, (the guy who designs and builds the subs), and he is a great guy. We talked for about 20 minutes, and he made me feel completely comfortable going with his company. He really knows his stuff and helped me pick a sub that would be best for my needs. Overall, a great guy.
Now fast forward to last Thursday. Fedex shows up and knocks on my door. The delivery guy asked me for help, because he said there was no way he could carry this thing.

The Tower is truly massive. And weighing in at 135 lbs, it wasn't light. When I opened it up, it was packed extremely well. 2" dense foam on the top and bottom and strips running along the corners. The sub was also wrapped in plastic.
After placement and calibration, I decided to pop in the Bluray "Live Free or Die Hard". Specifically the scene where McCain and the kid are in the tunnel, and the car flips over them. The experience was downright frightening! It's hard to explain the feeling. My eyelids we're flapping, my hair was moving, and I could feel this thing rattling my soul. It was amazing. Any worries that this thing couldn't handle my 5000 cft living room were history. This thing ABUSES my room! Yet somehow, it still seems to blend in perfectly with my Sierra-1s. It doesn't overpower them or drown them out at all.
My next test was Transformers. I had previously thought that the studio did a bad job with the LFE. I stand corrected. The bass was definetely present. Especially in the Ironhide backflip scene.
It is amazing the amount energy that this sub outputs. Because of this, I have had to make adjustments to my apartment. I had to lodge towels inbetween the oven door, because it was actually rattling open! I had to move a tall lamp that I have, cuz it gets knocked over.
I am not even anywhere near maximum power with this thing either. I have the gain slightly above 12 oclock. Just for fun, I put in the bass heavy song "Bass, I love you" by Bassotronics, turned the gain up to about 2 oclock, and it was insanity. This song has some incredibly low frequency bass notes. The Tower seemed to handle with ease.
It is a great feeling finally finding a point with your system where you consider it "complete".
I have all the bass I could ever want with this thing plus plenty in reserves, and I give Epik my highest recommendation.
