I've been aware of them for about a month now. They seem like a very good offering, and I very nearly bought the Tower, but I went with the PB13-Ultra. The Epiks are selling like hotcakes and new buyers are posting alot about them over at AVS forum.

I don't like that they don't have measurements for them. I have yet to see what frequency responce they are "supposed" to have. I don't trust them at this point.

Exactly. The Valor actually looks to be about equivalent to the HSU VTF mkIII w/o turbo based on the AVS forum comparison (IMO). There is not enough information available on any of the new Epik subs about SQ. The Conquest has been evaluated by Tom Nousaine, but that thing is scary huge, and very loud.

Check this out, Seth:

The numbers and response for the Epik Conquest seem phenominal.

By the numbers, the Conquest is suppose to output twice as much bass as the Velodyne DD 1812 and five times as much bass as the Genelec HTS6.

Epik is for real. Chad Kuypers and his dad started this company in September. Chad owned Ascendant Audio. His goal is to bring DIY performance at reasonable commercial prices. The FR graphs are done, just not up on the site. It's being redone. If you have questions, call. These guys are busy.

yeah, I have to comment also on why they won't put FR +-3db on their specs page.

a description like "super greatest subwoofer in the world" won't make me buy subwoofers. stuff like 100db @ x hz will.

Yup...my understanding is that everything's ready to launch. He thought he could manage the website, as well as, run his business...not possible yet...so he's outsourced. That being said, I don't know what will actually make it onto the specs page. He should at least throw in some response graphs. The one's we've seen on the AVS site look like there's nothing he'd want to hide ;).

yeah, last I heard a new website was being built.

i hope this time there are measurements or something.
i've seen some epik blogs that mention that they ground plane test their subs. hope those stuff make it to the new website.

i'm really curious about the tuning of the conquest.

You betcha!

I was really close to buying that Epik Conquest, but backed out the last minute and got the Trinity instead, even though I realize the Conquest and Ultra-13 are probably better. I didn't want to have to change my name to AcuDefTechEpikGuy.:D

What about AcuDefTechUltraGuy? I like the sound of that!

:p
Yeah, SVS Ultra-13 also crossed my mind. I'm thinking Conquest first, Ultra-13 second, and then everyone else.

But my name is already too long.:D
