Ok...just one more comment about the price. At less than a hundred bucks I chose sides in this so called format war.
Now then. I don't have hdmi recv'r pre/pro. My equipment is very good but I am limited to component and optic as far a connections are concerned with the new a2. I watched a bit of standard dvd material at 480p/5.1 My rig was clearly processing the 5.1 sountrack as I could hear things here and there as one would expect from a multi ch disc however, the a2 display reads '2CH'. And the movie was DD. Not DTS. What gives? I have yet to view a hd dvd but will soon. My setup is a bit unusual as I have both a pj and a hd set in the same room. I am going to run a hdmi connection from a2 to the hd unit as soon as my cable arrives from bj cables. Thanks for any opinions, help, w/ your system setup concerning the a2.
