Enhancing my Music Listening Experience

I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to good audio equipment. But I love listening to music (I also play a digital piano), and I do so mainly through headphones ($150 Bose), in my car, or a Bluetooth speaker, using my iPhone (cd's I've copied to iTunes, and many songs I've purchased from iTunes).

Can you point me to a single resource that I can read to learn about the latest equipment, types of music files and whatever else I don't know about? Is there a single resource (like a book, or in depth article) that covers all of this (for convenience)?

I'm not sure what your looking for? Are you looking for better audio quality?

Typically it's source recording, speakers, and room for listening improvements. Even higher end encodings like flac and ogg or cds can sound bad if the original mix is poor. Start with good speakers that sound good to you and build around that. Do remember though that good speakers will generally reveal a poor source, so choose source recordings carefully.

The single biggest thing you can do to "enhance your music listening experience", is to get a proper stereo system with big boy speakers. If you're interested, this forum is your best resource.

Audioholics e-book guides sound perfect for you. This forum is also a good resource. Also dig through some of the back articles on audioholics, tons of great stuff there.
