The Energy act sub is an 80 Watt RMS, 300 Watt Continuous powered subwoofer that compliments the extremely successful S8.3, S10.3 and S12.3 subwoofers. The act sub has many of the features found in its larger siblings while providing a compact, solution-based alternative.

The act sub is constructed out of a ¾" MDF enclosure using Energy’s double v-groove design, creating decorative tapered edges that are extremely strong, while the dovetail cabinet design increases the overall cabinet rigidity. The act sub features Energy’s patented Ribbed Elliptical Surround which eliminates the surround distortion found in a half-roll design (typically 14%), increases excursion and maximizes piston area, thereby increasing the subwoofers’ efficiency. A front ported, down-firing design allows the speaker to use the floor as a loading surface, increasing output. The act sub also offers low and high level inputs, as well as level control and infinitely adjustable crossover controls. The act sub is available in a shadow silver finish and will ship by the end of October 2004.
