Is the origional Connoisseur Line being replaced with the new Refrence Series?
I am thinking about using three C-C3 "center channel" speakers for my fronts and either the C-R3's or the C-3 for the rears and I am having a very hard time finding the Connoisseur's on-line.

Has anyone ever tried using 3 C-C3's for a matched front? Anyone have any experience with the C-C3 speaker it's self?

Thanks!

When will they be available?

Thanks for the reply!

I asked Energy this question and they wrote me back saying that this Series was discontinued and hard to find, he pushed the new Refrence series but made no mention of a new release of the C-series as was explained in the article you posted Warp.
I read that the new series will be built in China to reduce cost and will retail for less than before but when will these be available? I am guessing that this mean that the few C-series you can still get is made in Canada.

I don't think so. My OLD (1997) Energy subwoofer was built in canada. I think all of their stuff is.

All the C-series were moved to China production late last year, and all the new Reference series is now built in China. I have a C-3 made in Canada, but I have a C-C3 made in China. They are identical as far as the eye and ear can tell. The street prices have dropped already as a result. The actually selling price has already dropped 25% as a result of this. That is why my local dealer is selling the C-3 at $400 Canadian whereas it used to retail for $650 CAD.

All the subs are still made in Canada.

All of mine were made in Canada!

I went ahead and purchased these speakers online and they arrived last Friday; ALL were made in Canada. I am using 3 of the C-C3 LCR 3-way speakers for the front and a pair of the C-3 for surounds - it sounds unbelivable, the mids and highs are outstanding and now I am looking for a good sub to match with them.

The outside of the box had "Designed and Made in Canada" and I had to re-read the Made In label a couple of times before Canada sunk in - I am so used to seeing China that's what I thought it said at first!

I am really happy with the C-C3, I was using Athena F-2's and they were just too big for my room which is a "small" large room. I was worried that the C-C3 would not be large enough to fill the room but absoultly no problem there.
