Shipping is usually a killer, but I checked and it's only $30 shipped ground to my zipcode of 75075, of course your mileage may vary.
I'm curious to hear how this one looks when properly set-up. I purchased the HD-3701P a couple months ago and it looked like crap in the store, but my fears were unwarranted after I took it home connected it to the HD cable box and took the time to set-up the picture with DVE.

Here's the manufacturers website:

And here's where to buy it:

Seems like a good deal but it does NOT support HDCP

Moreover it does not natively support 1080p either. It takes 720p or 1080i and upconverts it to 1080p.

Another example of getting what you pay for.

For more info, search on avsforum.com for the set.

For what it's worth, I have the HD-3701P and it's manual says that it's not HDCP compliant either, but I have no problem sending it a signal over a dvi-hdmi cable. Something that you shouldn't be able to do without HDCP compliant equipment.

How many 1080P sources do you have? That's a great price and it really doesn't matter. Although it would be nice to have a display that accepts 1080P, and they are coming soon, but not for $899.

Also, it doesn't accept 1080p sources about 30hz. 50hz can happen, though with tears and inconsistent performance. 1080p at 60hz is not possible on this tv.

Though the price is right, I wouldn't purchase this, and I'm just trying to point out all the negatives before someone goes and buys what they think is a 1080p set, and they turn out to be disappointed. I think this money is better spent on a 1280x768 set with better picture quality. Also, HDCP may work, but I'd rather buy a set that specifically supports it, as the manual does not mention HDCP anywhere.

for the average consumer it might not be a bad buy. but for someone picky about visual quality, as i assumed most readers on this site would be, this isn't such a great deal.

Understandable concerns to be sure. However, I was kind of under the impression that HDMI was HDCP compliant as a standard and that it was only DVI which is still available on a lot of computer monitors and graphics cards that is not necessarilly HDCP compliant.

Yeah, I'm not really sure about that.

The only reason I'm pointing out the negatives is if someone is looking to use this set as a main home theater piece, they could probably do better. But for a secondary or bedroom tv, this will probably fit the bill.
