Empire Turntable, see photobucket. I would say it's at least an 8.5. For it's age it still looks great. Make offer. Has belt but needs a new one.

Walter,

I had emailed you earlier about this table ... is it still available? I believe you were looking for $300 ... is that correct (I erased the email ... sorry)? I am still considering it, I just don't move very fast!

Are there any known issues, other than needing a belt (no big deal)? I had looked at an Empire before, and it had a cracked connector at the ehadshell, which wasn't fixable. I'm running a Thorens now, but have a real affinity for these big, beautiful and heavy tables!

One last question ... what cartridge were you running on this table?

I still have it. It's in perfect shape. This table has never been abused. Cartgidge I have to check when I get home, I am still at work. I just have to move some of my stuff out of my small apartment> I am bringing a lot of old gear from my mothers house and it's starting to line up all over the floor. I even have to bring some stuff and store it in my work place.

Thanks for the info, Walter. If you get a chance to tell me what cartridge you were running, I'd appreciate it. I'd love to jump on this great table, just not sure I can sneak it past my better half right now! I'll try to swing it ... hopefully you'll still have it by then. That said, good luck with the sale if I don't get there first :)

Hi Walter,

I just joined Audioholics, and am not used to how such a site works. I saw your thread concerning an Empire table you are selling, and I'm interested, if you still have it. I never heard of empire tt's before (and oddly enough I grew up where they were being manufactured), but have been looking to upgrade my system (my current tt is a cheap 15 or 20 year old Sherwood). I only recently discovered Empires and like their looks and what I've been able to read about them. Anyway, if you still have yours you can let me know.
Thanks,
Jim

Still available. I am not really pushing to sell it. It is in great shape. Eventually I do have to move it out. Would be an easy pickup for you since I am only 1 1/2 hours from the city. They go for between $400 and $450. I'll let it go for $300. Needs new belt for around $12.

Hi Walter,

I live in Queens, just south of the Throggs Neck bridge. I am very interested in the table, primarily because I can pick it up and don't have to worry about the kind of unfortunate shipping damage that can happen sometimes, even when a table has been packed carefully. The pictures look good. Does it run very well, with no issues? I was also surprised to see how deep the platter was, I've never seen one so deep. But I didn't see anything in the posts above about what model of Empire it is. Can you tell me a little more about it?

That is not my table in the link, it's just the same one.
