Been thinking about picking five UPA-1's and two XPA-1's.

It looks like a nice little amp. I wish they would have put the signal meter like the XPA-1/2 have, but that's because I like bright flashing things :D

Even the final non-intro price is less than the Outlaw M2200.

The EE in me is wondering how they are getting 350w RMS @ 4 ohm and still keeping the total unit draw within 400 watts per the back panel diagram. Class B max theoretical efficiency is 78.5%.

Unless you are buying 7 monoblocks.:D

7 x M2200 = $1,974 (Free Shipping)
7 x UPA1 = ($2,303 + $175 S/H Non-Intro/ $1,953 + $175 S/H Intro)

I just preordered 2. The specs on these look really good.

I know Outlaw charges like $150 for shipping if you buy 5 monoblocks. However, the shipping is free if you buy 7 monoblocks.

I wonder if Emotiva has shipping specials similar to Outlaw?

Just confirmed - no shipping deals. It's a straight $25 per amp.

The EMO is 8lbs heavier and it's prettier than the Outlaw monoblock :D

OTOH, I can name three members just from "Page 1" who have had serious issues with their Emo purchase, one of which was about to throw his off the roof.

I am not sure if any of the three had any success in getting Emo to accept a return or agree to fix their unit. I think not.

I've never yet met anyone here who has ever had an issue with Outlaw, and they've been around longer, and make a wider variety of products, well namely subs.

...and the Outlaws hold their value pretty well. I went looking at used M2200 and the M200 yesterday seeing if I could score a deal.

Interesting comment from someone who signs his name "Onkyo Owner". ;) I guess it's hard to get away from the nickname "doorstop owner":D

It still works as advertised. ;) It still works well enough where I can look towards sub upgrade, PJ upgrade, and other hardware upgrades before spending money on a pre/pro again.

Believe it or not, a very large proportion of the nicest HTs here are using Onkyo/Integra for their processor. ;)

Welcome to the forum, troll. ;)

Emotiva

this is my first post on this most excellent forum, that being said, I have had both Outlaw and Emotiva, pre-amps, amps and processors...sold them all due to poor quality.....Bryston, on the other hand is a most excellent value if you can find a good used one..

Emotiva service is just OK...I had an XPA-2, neat looking unit, but the LEDs burned out within a couple of months and it cost me $80.00 in freight to fix a couple of bulbs....who knows what could fail next? SQ was fair...IMHO
