Emotiva MC-700 7.1 CH Preamp for my current setup?

I had a little mishap with my old equipment in a non climate controlled storage unit so I'm starting over from scratch.

Luckily, I kept my parasound halo a51 amp safe. I have ordered 2 MartinLogan Electrocution ESL's as my fronts.

I may try to see if my definitive technology supercube subwoofer is repairable after being exposed to pollen, dust, and humidity.

I'm looking a pre-amp to start which would compliment the A51 and my fronts. I saw this new emotiva mc-700 for $499 (plus $42 for the bluetooth adapter) and am wondering if you pros think it'd be a good fit. I'll be adding a center channel, and rears eventually for a 5.1 theatre setup. I'll also be listening to music (including sacds).

Thanks in advance for your advice!

I'm assuming you are set on separates.
It is really about which features you want.

Not much time remaining (they might give it to you tomorrow if you ask them nice!), but Outlaw currently is selling their pre-pro for $500:

Just wanted to alert you to another option (not many at this price). I have no idea which is better, Emotiva or Outlaw. Both are good companies that generally offer great value. I believe the Outlaw has been out for awhile, so it is a known quantity with good info on the web. Emotiva has not always been a good source for pre-pros, but I hope they are now past that. J. Garcia's willingness to jump aboard is a pretty good recommendation!
The newness of the Emotiva likely means it may have some more recent features.

PS - Nice step up from DefTech to ML ESL!

Thanks man! I didn't know the sale ended tonight. I went for it.

There's not much content even out for the new audio formats so I don't think I need those right now. I love that the emotiva does 4k for my new TV. I'm going with separates since I was able to get the parasound amp for a good deal and I want to put it to use.

Thanks for the compliment on the fronts upgrade. I'm pretty excited about them.

Cheers

You might enjoy reading Irvrobinson's comments when he got his. (he is a trustworthy sort who doesn't get enraptured in any new gear "fan-boy" mentality). Of course you will get the Arnold version of the remote, lol.
