Emotiva LMC-1/LMA1 experiences?

I was wondering if anyone owns the Emotiva LMC-1 and LMA-1 pair? It just sounds too good to be true, and I worry it may be if I invest in them. Please share your experiences with me. I've read "jclarkes'" review on this site and I really hope someone else out there can confirm it. I would love to get real audiophile quality from so little of an investment.

Thanks for any and all input.

Emotiva

Hi roidefromage,
I've had the LMC / LMA combo for 2 months now. My only gripe was that the HDMI switcher did not work properly. Emotiva replaced it, but only after some continuous nagging on my part. The new switcher works great, and I gotta tell ya, the sound quality is as good as I've ever heard. I've owned old Crown seperates, and Denon integrated amps, and this is just plain impressive. I am powering B&W 804's, matching center, and surrounds. A 825 sub rounds out the system.

Yamaha and LPA-1

I am using an LPA-1 amp with a Yamaha receiver as pre-pro with good results. The Emotiva amp is more capable of driving my 4 ohm Onix Ref 1's and I am using a couple of the Amps channels for a Zone2/distributed audio system. I also plan to upgrade to the LMC-1 pre-pro which should have better sound quality than my yamaha.

A new receiver for $1k will have more features than the Emotiva combo including HDMI 1.3 video scaling, auto setup mic, etc. but Emotiva will catch up when they release the new pre-pros early next year.

Happy with Emotiva LMC-1 & LPA-1

I have the LMC-1 & LPA-1 prepro/amp and LOVE THEM! The sound is awesome, As I've owned NAD seperates, and Yamaha prepro and Denon amp I can compare. The video switching is six months behind the big name receivers, but will be on par or better when the new prepros come out soon.

Once you buy a prepro from Emotiva, your next purchase is 40% off! Thats what I'm going to do in the near future.

My current mains are Aperion Audio 632 LR's, and power hungry. The LPA-1 never gives up, and can really get down and grunt. Example, my 632's are only rated at 86db 1w/1m and can handle 250 watts. I don't know how much power I'm putting into them, but it sounds like a concert, only a really good concert. Clean and loud.

Hope this helps,

Good Luck :)

Its all about amazing sound quality

Ok first off,I own the top of the line "Big Dogs" which are the DMC1 pre/pro and the MPS1 7- channel amp. I was at first leary also of their build quality, construction , customer service and most importantly how they sounded. After much research and drooling;) I pulled the trigger, paired with my Axiom M80v2 up front as the mains, these gorgeous electronics from Emotiva blew me away from the first note that came from the speakers.

All the cliche's that you read about were suddenly happening to me, Huge wide, deep and tall soundstage, imaging like I have never imagined, I never new it existed like this to be honest, crisp but smooth highs, fantastic mids and tight, deep very well controlled bass with no flubbiness at all. (in all honesty I must give alot of credit to the Axioms as well as they are simply a superb speaker for very reasonable money)

Emotiva are in my opinion and alot of other folks as well, some of the best built(heavy duty), great looking, and above all most fantastic sounding electronics around and oh ya, they are also very affordable:D:D:D

If you are looking for great sound at a very modest price, the 30 day trial will convince you, I will wager that you keep them.
