Has anyone purchased this amp? I think that it's pretty new on the market and seems to be the type of low cost stereo amp that I'm interested in purchasing.

What do the Zen masters of Audioholics think of the product?

And as for the specs, I'm a little confused. Can this amp function without a pre-pro as a stereo 2.1 amp? How would the powered subwoofer connect to the amp?

Are there any other stereo amps with 150 watts in to 8 ohms that are around $250?

I want to power my Klipsch RF-35 fronts with a seperate amp because my Onkyo seems to lack the power to push all the channels with clarity and definition. I listen to a great deal of 2.1 channel and think a seperate power amp may improve the performance in that respect too.

Emotiva Specs.

The new product looks cool, especially for zone 2 applications.
If you check out the description and pic of the rear, you can see that it can function as an intigrated amp with a single line input. The line output can be used to daisy chain amps or as a sub crossover (2.1)

Also note the power specs:
75 Watts x 2 into 4 Ohms
150 Watts x 1 into 8 Ohms (Bridged Configuration)

You only get 150 Watts when brigged and using it as a monoblock amplifier. If you have a mid-fi receiver, the power rating of this amp would probably not be much of an upgrade. However, it is stable into 4 ohms, and inexpensive.

Audio source is another option in the $200 price range.
