Element TV remote code

A friend has purchased an Element LCD tv, model 26LE30Q. The manual gives 3 digit codes for programming a remote, but his Yamaha receiver (HTR 5940) remote requires a 5 digit code. Can anyone help? BTW, it seems Element is a house brand for both Kmart and Walmart. Thanks.

For what I can find element is made by ProView. So I would look through the Yamaha manual for that brand's code and also try Emerson and Sylvania as they are also made by ProView.

Don't worry about how many digits a remote takes to enter a code. This number will be specific to that remote to pull up the IR codes for a particular brand or model.

thanks for the advice

My friend just left a phone message telling me that following your advice has solved his problems. Thanks again adk highlander

BTW, your name reminds me of our years living in Edinburgh. Great people, but the weather was another story . . . :)

Glad to help.

Edinburgh is great. Last time I was there I was even lucky enough to have the queen drive right next to my family. My wife and family are from the Glasgow region. It is amazing how great the people are and how crappy the weather is.

colder than Chicago

Yeah! While the actual temps in the Chicago area (where I now live) are lower, we felt colder living in Scotland. Partly due to the lack of insulation in older buildings (including the house we rented) and partly due to the WIND and RAIN.

But, the people were GREAT! We knew every single person on our street. Scottish hospitality was superb.
