Hi, I'm thinking of getting a pair of these, and need to know the Pro's and Con's of them. I would be playing for about 75-100 people, and need very good, strong, clean and powerful bass. Dubstep and Drum & Bass would be played the most.

Thanks :)

Do not open new threads on same topic - it's not cool.
If you don't get much info on this sub is since few people here know a) Pro audio and b) specialize in UK market.

You are in the pro audio realm.

In spaces like you describe then you either have to have a lot of money for big powerful amplifiers or build a very large and heavy horn loaded system, (about the size of a kiosk) to enable you to get low bass with high efficiency.

Otherwise you have to be content with subs like the Electrovoice.

In relatively compact systems like that you have a trade off between efficiency, sound pressure level and bass extension. So if you want high spl and high efficiency so you don't have to spend a small fortune on amplifiers delivering power in the kilowatt range, then you have to give up bass extension.

Now look at the specs of your intended sub.

You will note an F3, the point at which the output is down by 3db at 50 Hz. Now some bookshelf speakers can get that low. This sub is ported and the bass will roll off at 24 db per octave. So at 25 Hz which is in the range you want for the music you want to play and the effect you want to produce, this sub will be silent.

To reproduce what you want in a large space, will require multiple subs, sealed with lots of Eq. It requires very expensive drivers and banks of expensive amps. This is well out of your budget.

If the speakers do not need to be portable, and the speakers can be installed in a specific location on a permanent basis, then constructing very large bass horns is the way to go.
