Let’s continue.
“Live Die Repeat” (the renamed Blu Ray release for “Edge of Tomorrow”) takes place in the future, in which an alien race has attacked the earth in an unwinnable war. They are unbeatable by any military in the world. (Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is dropped into a suicide mission. Killed within minutes, and by total accident absorbing the blood of one of the head aliens, he now finds himself inexplicably thrown into a time loop forcing him to live out the day “ala Ground Hog Day”. With each day relived, Cruise learns from death after death to take on the aliens and become a better warrior to boot. Emily Blunt is a Special Forces Warrior and the best fighter they have. Blunt and Cruise are thrown together to take the fight to the aliens, each repeated death gets them one step closer to ending the war.
The Story is incredibly strong. When I first saw the trailer I didn’t think I was going to like it .I figured I’ve seen it before. I couldn’t have been more wrong. The action is intense in every sense of the word. I was glued to the edge of my seat the whole time. The set pieces were great with a gritty feel and that sense of war dirt and grime. The alien’s concept was great, they reminded me of the squids from the matrix. The aliens definitely look menacing and very pissed to boot. Based on the novel “All You Need Is Kill” by Hiroshi Sakurazaka, you get a superbly crafted script from the source material.
Edge of Tomorrow 3D comes to Blu-ray Disc from Warner Brothers Home Entertainment featuring 1080p video and lossless DTS-HD 7.1 Master Audio.

Final Thoughts:
This movie was a pleasant surprise in every way. Being a big budget popcorn flick I didn’t expect much. Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt came through in spades, making this not just a solid action movie but one of the best true Sci-Fi movies I’ve seen in a long time. I was impressed by the gritty feel of war and the feel of something fresh in this genre. This 3D Blu-ray combo pack features faithful high definition video, reference quality DTS-HD Master Audio surround sound, and exceptional 3D rendering that compliments the film. I highly recommend “
Edge of Tomorrow”, it deserves a place in the collection of every home theater enthusiast. It is hard to find fault with this movie. I plan on viewing it again with Atmos enabled on my receiver to see if it changes the sound immersion at all. I will update the review later. I hope you all enjoy the film as I did.
