I saw this sub online for about 500. It shows its retail more on their site. I never hear you guys talk about this brand sub much on here. Is it a good sub. I was originally going to spend about 1200 for a sub but some things came up like I need a new receiver so now Im looking in the 500 to 700 max price range. Is this sub worth getting. I cant find any reviews on it on here. Another criteria is I want something now. i dont wanna wait months for the sub or I would buy the new sub from av123. Any help please. Thanks all

I had an Earthquake 10", I'm not sure what version it was. For it's size it was quite loud. It just didn't go low enough for me. Judgind by the output of the 10 I had, I would assume the 12 is probably a pretty damn good speaker.

FWIW, I think Earthquake is a great company. There about a 1/2 hour away from me, here in Hayward, CA. I had a ground loop problem, but thought there was something wrong with the sub. I went to Earthquake and the PRESIDENT of the company, spent about an hour with me, testing the sub and discussing speaker design and stuff, (most of which went WAY over my head).

so I purchased it for 598 total after shipping. I hope I like it. Im sure it will sound thousand times better than my old junk cerwin vega sub. Lol. Now I can afford to get an emotiva amp. Then eventually get better speakers than my polk rti150 fronts and csi5 center and polk in walls.

I am also lookign at this sub. If i can ask where did you purchase? Could you describe or review the sub with thoughts? This is an older sub right? I was also looking at this from Parts Express. Dayton T1503K 15" Titanic Mk III Subwoofer at about 700. Thoughts? I have not found much reviews on either, but the SuperNova is tempting if indeed it delivers

I got the earthquake off ebay, brand new in the box for 598 shipped. I have not seen many reviews but a few people on here said it is a good sub and it seemed a good price. It sells for 1000 on their web site. Ill post more once i get it and listen to it a bit.

Great look forward to hearing about it as i simply have not found many reviews. Some older ones online (the sub must be an older model even though i do see it listed on their website.

So I got the earthquake today. My first impressions are Im not impressed at all. To be totally honest I can not tell the difference between it and my piece of s#$t cerwin vega sub. I should have gotten the svs. I just cant believe my 10 yr old cerwin vega sub holds its own to this. Thats pathetic!

So now that I have listened to it more and played around with it, I believe it is better than I first thought. I find myself having to turn down the sub sometimes. After switching between the two subs I also noticed it shakes a lot more then the cerwin vega. Now I realize that the vega bass was pretty sucky and maybe you would call it muddy. So for 500 that i paid I feel its not that bad, but if I had paid the 1000 from their website I would be pi&&^d.

EarthQuake and Sunfire subwoofers are very picky on placement. Once you get it set up correctly (it's so hard I was never able to do it) it should give you astounding results. I have heard a properly setup and calibrated Sunfire TrueSub, it blew me away. I now regret having sold mine and wish I had taken more time to calibrate it correctly.

600 bucks for a sub off ebay you've never heard of and couldn't find reviews on? Man, that's an expensive gamble. Sounds like you had some very good subs recommended to you that are of proven quality and within the same price bracket. Hope this doesn't bite you in the rear end - any return policy on the Earthquake?

So I found a corner of the room that it works great in sometimes even too loud. So for the fun of it I used the outputs on it to run to my old cerwin vega 12 and placed it about 2 foot away facing the earthquake. Can I cay Holy S#$%. My neighbors are going to kick my butt. I was getting complaints before with the vega now My whole neighborhood will be wanting me out. But oh well, it sure feels cool when the house shakes and i hear dishes rattle.

Make sure that the passive radiator side is facing the wall and the active driver itself is facing towards the seating position. You'll have to experiment with placement and tuning, but once you find the sweet spot and proper settings, you'll probably really like it. The Earthquake subs can play very low and quite differently than your CV sub so it will probably take some getting used to.

I guess the sub is louder than I thought. I had the cops at my house at 5 in the morning saturday for disturbing the peace! He said next time Im getting a ticket. So when he left I turned on my old sub also, put in some old bass music I had from back in the days and cranked it up to the max just to shake the neighbors house some more. Stupid neighbors. Lol

Sounds like your neighbors aren't the ones with the problem...

I would say its their problem....I enjoy the bass. I had even turned it down early in the night just to be nice. They usually text me to turn it down but this time they called the cops. UNLESS it was a different neighbor.

Now that some time has passed and you have had a chance to calibrate the Earthquake are you happy or not? I'm looking at this sub as well as the new Earthquake FF-12. If anyone else has a suggestion for the most bang for the buck in a sub I'm all ears....
