Earth Declares War on the Moon

Although many will find this a waste of money, I think it's cool and believe pure research is still needed to advance mankind.

Why not? As far as we know, it won't shoot back. And we have plenty of extra cash laying around to fund this.
The part I like best is when it says, "The spacecraft will not head straight for the Moon." Of corse not. We have to sneak up on it so it doesn't fly away before we get there. Someone call NASA and tell them to "fly casual."

True enough, it is hard to balance scientific advancement with real world “right now” needs. What we’re doing is taking the first tentative baby steps into exploring, and eventually colonizing other worlds. It will happen – not in our lifetime, or even our grandchildren’s, but it will happen.

Thats just screwed up, leave the moon alone I mean what about side effects who knows, just leave the moon alone how about a nice sneak approach to something like ummm North Korea before they sneak up on US.Just saying.
