DVI to Component Video Card

I realize I am close to what others have posted here, but I am looking for very specific requirements to do a component only connection between my PC (Dell Inpsiron 530S set up as a HTPC with an ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro video card - not able to send DVI to component signals) to my receiver (Sony HT-7100DH), and on to my older HDTV (Toshiba 50HDX82). I currently have the PC successfully connected to my HDTV through DVI, but I am trying to "simplify" things for my wife. Currently the PC connects to the TV for video, and audio passes through the receiver, but I would like to minimize connections for my wife, who doesn't like having to switch TV and receiver inputs to watch movies on Media Center.

Does anyone know of a video card (preferably low profile) that will actually send a signal out through the DVI port to a DVI to component cable (like the DVI-I to 3 RCA component cable on monoprice). Other threads have danced around this issue, with most answers being "DVI is better, why go analog?" Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not sure what you are looking for but the card doesn't know anything about what kind of cabling you are using. An adapter cable that goes from component video to DVI or vice-versa just rearranges the pins to put the proper portion of the signal on the pins where the receiving device expects to see them.

There are three flavors of DVI: DVI-A, DVI-D, and DVI-I. If your card ouputs component video (analog) and you use a component to DVI adapter the receiving device must be able to accept DVI-A or DVI-I (which can accept either analog or digital signals).

In other words, don't worry about the adapter. Worry about what flavor of DVI the receiving device can recognize. For what it's worth, my video card is DVI-I and the monitor can accept either DVI-A or DVI-D and I personally notice zero difference between the two.

Thanks for the reply - I am actually concerned with going the other way - I would like to know what video cards with a DVI out are able to use a DVI to component cable that would allow me to use the DVI on the PC to go to component cables in my AV receiver...
