DVI Switcher Woes

I just got a Gefen DVI switcher so I could hook up both my cable box and Marantz DV9500 to my RCA DLP. The cable box works fine, but the DVD player swithces from fine to really weird about every second. Could this be an incompatibilty issue because I had to use an adaptor on the DVD player to switch from HDMI to DVI? Anyone have any ideas?

Going from HDMI to DVI shouldn't be the problem since you are in reality just removing the audio portion from the HDMI cable. Do you have the manualls for both source units ? If so I would get Geffen on the line and give them the specs for both units. They can probably help.

It could be your HDMI to DVI cable... some just don't work properly.

The problem was in the adaptor, not the switcher. All is well now. Thanks for your help.
