DVI/HDMI vs. Component?

I currently own a SONY V2500 46'' BRAVIA and I'm using component cables at the moment to connect it to my moto cable box from Charter Comm.
Would my picture improve at all if I used a DVI/HDMI cable to connect my cable box to my SONY?

by the way, has anyone ever run into compatibility issues with this sort of half DVI/HDMI type cable?

Not as much as all the hype would lead you to believe. You may not even notice a difference.

DVI and HDMI in terms of video are identical, so there should be no issue. That is what I use for my PS3 right now and it works great. There is already a thread on this that should more or less answer your question, but basically for the same resolutions, there isn't a huge difference.

I have run into a problem. When I plugged my DVI-HDMI cable from my SA4200HD to my olevia 232v, all the colors were negative (reversed).
