DVI - HDMI - No sound

I recently purchased a Pioneer Elite VSX 84TXi. I have a Scientific Atlantic 3250HD Cable Box. I hooked up a DVI-HDMI cable to connect the cable box to the receiver. I am using a digital audio out cable. When I select HDMI on the receiver, the picture is fine but the audio goes mute. When I deselect HDMI, the audio comes back. I want the picture quality of DVI-HDMI, but I can't figure out how to get the audio and video to work together using HDMI.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Easy

Dvi will not pass audio only video. Just use your digital audio out's and enjoy!! Only hdmi will do both! I would like to ask are you a Rogers customer? If so, then its good to know the dvi works because I heard it may not be supported. I myself use component for that reason.
