I have a gift certificate to Best Buy that I need to use and thought I could go ahead and pick up a DVI cable. I am planning on buying a 50" Sony SXRD RP this spring. I know that HDMI is preferable but my signal will come from a Time Warner HD DVR box. I checked the current one they use and it has DVI connections, no HDMI.
I would like to get a 6'+ cable (I have had a few stretches with recent cables). I like quality but also pay attention to a diminishing return. If a $100 cable gives a great picture in all but certain situations and the next step up is $200, I will probably stick with the $100 cable. The TV is primarily used for watching comedy/action DVDs, DVR TV shows and football.
