DVD to LCD TV direct HDMI connection?

Would there be a big difference in picture clarity if the DVD player's HDMI is directly connected to an lcd TV instead of passing the HDMI cable first to the AV receiver before going to the TV?

There sure shouldn't be. There might be some settings in your receiver that affect the video output, though.

You could always just give it a try and see how it looks to you. That's what I tend to do, assuming that it's easy to try it out.
