DVD Stuck in Loader (bravo d1)

My DVD player, Bravo D1, has a DVD stuck.

I don't understand companies that make ****ty loaders like this...there should be a "drop everything and eject" button, not a "let's keep trying to load the bad disk and ignore the multiple jamming of the eject button" button.

Anyway it tries to load the DVD, says "No CD". If I push eject, it tries to LOAD THE DVD AGAIN...AHHHH NO WHY IS IT LABELLED EJECT IF IT TRIES TO LOAD AGAIN...

Anyway, I took the sucker apart. As you can see it actually has a standard IDE interface with molex power connector so theoretically I could replace the loader, but I'd rather not.

Any ideas?

If you don't care about warranty voiding, go ahead and open up the drive. I work in a computer repair center and we have to do that all the time. You won't believe the kind of stuff we've pulled out of optical drives....like credit cards and movie tickets...

Take a picture of it on all 6 sides. There should only be a few screws needed, maybe a push-tab. I've disassembled these things before...

You won't be able to post all the pics here, so I'd say post them on Photobucket or something and post the URLs here.

Check the connections again. You should also make sure that you didn't drop a anything into the case that will cause a short. Usually when I'm working on this kind of stuff and it doesn't power on, it's usually because I was stupid and

1. Didn't plug something in
2. Didn't plug something in all the way (definitely check that everything is FULLY seated)
3. Plugged the wrong thing into a port/plug

Make sure that all of the wires are properly seated in the harnesses. It's really hard to troubleshoot stuff like that across the internet though...

I'm not sure if you tried this before opening it up, but many electronics will "re-set" if they are un-plugged from the wall for a period of time. Instead of just shutting them off, unplug them from the outlet or power strip so they are getting no power at all. I usually leave the unplugged for 5 minutes. I had to do this with a DVD-A disc on my first DVD-A player because it completely locked it up. I couldn't turn it off or anything. I also remember a Magnavox TV that would build up a static charge in the remote receiver so the TV could not receive any signals from any remote. If you unplugged the TV for a couple of hours the static charge would drain & it would work fine for a couple months.
