So, what sub did you order?
knocking on wood. I've been saying in this forum I'd be buying this or that subwoofer, but none of them ever materialized. since this mode of transportation is pretty dangerous (handling damage, customs confiscation, boat sinking ...) I'd prefer to reveal that when it actually arrives safe

its a canadian brand. it left canada first week of feb. 35 days sailing time + paperwork. I was gonna get an SVS, but didn't really care to understand the taxes and stuff. plus the fact the cylinders were WAY bigger than the standard container shipping boxes.

If SVS were to give me a quote of door to door delivery including duties, I'd buy one right away. I'm too lazy to fight/understand with the local customs people.

Cool! Let us know when you get it and how it all turns out! I guess being in the states I don't think/worry about all that. Was UPS or FedEx an option? If so, seems like they would take care of all the paperwork, etc.

apparently, to import something that exceeds 500USD in value (including shipping cost) will require me to have a company that has an importation license. so fedex and UPS, can't really help me there.

if I ask SVS to label the box as "sample product" i wonder if that will fly.

GIFT :D I've used that when shipping stuff to Canada.

So were these DVDs on sale or what? That's $25 ea average... For the sub, I'd watch War of the Worlds first....just don't crank it up too loud.

I always buy my DVD's in Hong Kong, it just so happens that my brother went there last saturday ... :) (first 11 items was from HK -no sale though- I wanted best audio/video quality - because the ones available here suck)

the DVD's in HK are expensive (especially from HMV)

but the last 3 items I bought here in manila was on sale for about 7USD each :)
