Dvd recording & playback

If I do not have digital receiver and audio is sent from the dvd audio output my problem is the audio from the television set is a different sound from playing through the receiver causing an almost echo effect how can I FIX THIS?

Can you please explain your problem a bit clearer? Do you have your TV going to your receiver? What equipment are you using?

More details are necessary, but I think you are saying that you have the analog audio outs of the dvd player connected to the receiver. You also hear sound from the tv, probably because you have cable connected directly to the tv.

If so, the solution is simple: Turn off the tv speakers.
