DVD Player Help....Help on What to Buy...

Yamaha 2500, and 900 Avants all around.

Everything will be hooked up through Comp. No Dvi or HDMI

The question is I am looking for a decent Dvd Player. Nothing Overkill but decent. That 250 price range.

So any help or suggestions would be great.

Another dumb question, when you hook the DVD player to the reciever do you go through the Discrete 6 audio and the optical, or through just one. I know dumb question but just getting into the higher end audio world. Thanks

The multi-channel analog outs are required for DVD-A and SACD. If the player you buy supports either or those formats and you buy discs in those formats, then yes you will connect the 6 analog cables from the player to the receiver.

The digital output (optical or coaxial) is required for sending DD or DTS in digtal format to the receiver.

You can have both the 6 analog cables and the digital cable connected at the same time.
