DVD-Audio via HDMI or Analogue?

I have a Panasonic DVD-S97 connected to a Denon AVR3806 via HDMI. I am playing multi-channel DVD audio via HDMI. The Panasonic user manual states that for maximum performance when listening to multi-channel DVD-audio you should use the analogue multi-channel outputs. This would mean me purchasing 3 pairs of high quality RCA leads.

Does anyone know why the manual would state you get maximum performance when using the analogue outputs as opposed to using the HDMI interface and hence the receiver's DACs?

I read somewhere once that the jitter inherenet in HDMI connections means that for audio (PCM/DD/DTS etc.) coax or SPDIF should be used instead. Is there any truth in this?

With your DVD player, you must use the 6 analog cables from your DVD player to the receivers "EXT IN". DVD-Audio and SACD are only available via analog, unless you spring for the higher-end Denon DVD players with their proprietary "Denon Link". HDMI will pass DTS, Dolby Digital, and PCM audio, but not the hi-res formats DVD-A and SACD. This is sure a confusing situation, isn't it?

I am using DVD-A via HDMI with my Denon 1920 and Yammie RXV2600. The advantage is I can also enguage the PEQ and DSP modes on DVD-A. DVD-A with THX music mode that uses the ASA setup is audio nirvna:D

How do you like the sound quility compare to other DVD-player?? I'm think buy denon 1920 or 2910, however I'm not sure the extra $400 on 2910 justify the improments in soud quility.
