Will a new format be coming out with the release of Blue-Ray and HDDVD? Replacing DVD-A and SACD?

Oh yeah, in answer to your second question............ The new Dual Discs (cd on one side/dvd on other), are what they expect to take the place of sacd and dvd-a music. They've had a lot of problems, using these discs, in some players. I think it's mostly because they are thicker than normal discs.

There may be a new audio format for music, but not for a while. I'm thinking that DVD-Audio might be an ideal format for HD-DVD and Blu-Ray. It's designed for multi-channel from the ground up and it's lossless. There's no reason why DVD-Audio can't be used for HT audio, as well as music.

DTS-HD is a new format coming out for movies that is bit-for-bit identical to the master soundtrack, even all the way up to a 192kHz sampling rate.
