Hiho,

Yesterday I bought the Yammy DVD-S657 player just to use DVD-A/SACD medias.
I was wondering if there is a way to replay them (f.e. Pink Floyd Darkside of the moon as SACD or Mike Oldfield Tubular bells as DVD-A) digitally.
I could only manage the analoge multichannel input to make it work - is this normal?

Another question btw:
The player supports YMC so I connected him this way - amp is connected via RGB to TV -> problem YMC doesn´t work at all
-> conclusion all connections must be in one format DVD->AMP->TV in RGB or YMC am I right?

bye

It is normal to hookup SACD/DVD-A using 6 RCA cables to your receivers multi-channel inputs.

If you want to play these formats digitally you would need a player & receiver with ilink (firewire), denon link (with the latest version) or HDMI (not sure if HDMI will play SACD at this time). The typical digital coax or optical will not work for DVD-A or SACD.

I believe a hybrid SACD can be played through the normal digital coax or optical, but it will not be playing the hi-rez portion of the disc.
