DVC subwoofer wiring

Hi,

I have two 12" Dual voice coil subs and 1 amplifier and i would like some advice.

each coil has an impedance of 2 ohms, so would it be a good idea to parallel the coils in each sub and then connect the two subs in series to have an overall impedance of 2ohms?

I want to get the most of my amp, which the lowest it can handle is 2ohms.

specs:
amp: Kicker kx400.1 (400w mono channel D class)
subs: 2x Response precision (jaycar) CS-2354 (300W RMS, DVC)

either way would work...the amp won't know the difference. So whatever is easier to wire would be the way to do it. I often find its its easier to series the VC's and then strap them to present a 2ohm load to the mono amp....less wiring to the terminal cup that way.

cool, thanks.

How about the power? will I have sufficient power supplying to the subs?

400w rms from the amp and 600w rms to the subs.

would it be OK if i the volume is not cranked to the max?

if the lowest impedance the amp can handle is 2 ohms you do not want to wire them in parallel, well not exactly, what i would do is wire the two voice coils in series giving each sub an impedance of 4 ohms and then hook the subs up in parallel, giving you and impedance of 2 ohms.
