Dumb question about heat

Hi, I have a dumb question, I have an AVR-635 and I am going to be buying a matching DVD player from HK like the DVD-22. I have a small space constraint, and would like to pu the DVD-22 on top of the AVR-635, does this pose a problem heat wise for either of the components? The whole top cover of the 635 has slots for cooling...

You can try and see at first but it is not wise to do so.

Generally, it's best to have three or more inches of clearance around most AVR's. Even if you put the DVD player on some kind of riser, I'd be concerned with the heat rise cooking the DVD player...over time. Bad juju.

If you must stack them, put the receiver on top of the dvd player if the dvd player chassis is reasonably sturdy. NEVER put anything on top of the receiver - the vent holes on the top are there for a reason.

Best bet is to find a suitable rack and keep them separate so they each get adequate airflow.
