Dual subwoofers on a single line out

Hi I have a Yamaha reciever with a subwoofer line out.
I have Infinity IL30 tower speakers and 1 Velodyne VX-10 subwoofers, and another one on it's way.

I understand that I can connect the subwoofers in line with the main speakers, however, I am going to attempt the following and wanted to know if I should not even attempt it:

Using a Y splitter to connect both the subwoofers to the single subwoofer line-out.
