I am building one of these sonotubes and using two dual voice coil drivers. They are rated at 8 ohms per coil.
I have on subwoofer preout on my reciever and need to use a power amp. How do i hook up these two driver's to the power amp when only have one preout on the receiver.

You need to wire the driver dual voice coils in series so that each driver is now 4ohm. Then connect each driver to a seperate channel on your power pro amplifier (assuming this is what you are using, most do). Finally, connect your receiver to your power amp with a standard RCA chord, using a RCM -> 1/4" mono adaptor on the amp side. Run the amp in parallel mode, so that the single received on the A-channel is split to both channels.

This may help you: http://www.crutchfieldadvisor.com/S-0O37DhH47rd/learningcenter/car/subwoofers_wiring.html on how to wire the drivers to the amp. Note, it is best for the amp to run in either 4ohm or 8ohm mode.

If you still got question, probably best to post in one of the popular DIY forums.

Thanks for the help. The first thing i though of was using a y adapter. I didnt know that the amp would split the mono single to both channels.
