Dual screen setup but want option to change 1 monitor input

Here's a drawing of my current setup. The problem I'm running into is when I set the HDMI switcher to the PS4, monitor 2 correctly still shows my PC (that's what I want) but the audio from the receiver no longer works. The sound icon on the taskbar gets the red circle thing and when I troubleshoot it, it says it's unplugged.

Basically I want to be able to have my dual screen setup for PC but have the option to play PS4 on one of the screens, but still have the audio from my receiver work for the PC

I use headphones for PS4, so I don't need the audio from the receiver for that.

Both monitors have built in speakers but I don't use them.

Your drawing indicates that your HDMI switch is connected directly to your PC; but the error you are describing suggests that PC is connected through your receiver.

What audio connector are you using to attach the PC to the receiver?

The monitors are directly connected to the PC. Then I have an hdmi connecting the pc to the receiver.

I would give Denon tech support a call.

I had a similar problem in that I wanted to watch the TV, everything is routed to my Yamaha AVR via HDMI, while listening to music. The feature was not available until their RX-A3040 series and beyond.

One possability is that the monitors are shuffling once you disable it.

So Monitor 1, 2, and 3 (with 3 being the AVR).
You switch the switch on monitor 2, effectively unplugging it, and windows moves monitor 3 to the monitor 2 position. Now monitor 3 doesn't exist and audio stops working.

If you can, I'd move move the SPIDF connector for getting audio from your PC to your receiver. That should resolve this behavior.

Your illustration demonstrates that your HDMI switch is associated straightforwardly to your PC; however the blunder you are depicting recommends that PC is associated through your recipient.

What sound connector would you say you are utilizing to join the PC to the collector?

What you're saying makes perfect sense about it thinking there are 3 monitors and switching. When I flip the hdmi switch, now I actually can notice that the screens do switch. So your recommendation is to connect the receiver and pc with an SPIDF instead of the HDMI (so there is no video confusion which causes the switching)?
I just checked, and my PC does not have an SPIDF connection. Is there any other work around? Is there a way to make the monitors have a static location?

After researching, I didn't realize optical out and spdif are virtually the same thing with different connections. I think I actually have both on my receiver. I'm sure I could get a sound card that supports these for my PC that would fix this whole problem
