I've ordered a dual LM4780 kit from audiosector.com to build a bridged amplifier. Anyone build one of these kits and have some feedback about the build or the performance?

I've ordered the supporting hardware from parts express I just need to find a case for it to fit the two big transformers.

No, but I looked at the circuit. I note there is no trim for setting the two halves of the wave to exactly opposite voltage.

When bridging amps you need to feed a sign wave and look at it on the scope and make sure the + voltage is numerically the same as the -ve voltage. In other words the sine wave must cross to zero at the node. If not distortion is greatly increased.

The next issue is that unless you have very unusual speakers you must have an amp rated to 2 ohms. Most speakers no matter what the loudspeaker manufacturer says are effectively four ohm speakers. After bridging each amp will see half the impedance of the speaker. Many good amps are destroyed by bridging, so be careful.

Update

I got it all soldered together and wired up. I have to say it sounds great. It's been fun project and a good excuse to buy new tools :D

I've got a chassis ordered. I will probably redo some of the the wiring when I get it.

You can check out a pic of it.
