Dual DB1's in Stereo....Need Orientaion Advice

Hey All, I just picked up my second B&W DB1 with plans to run them in Stereo next to my towers.

What I am wondering about is the orientation of the subs since they have dual opposing woofers. Should I orient them so that the front woofers are pointed towards the listening position and the opposing woofers are pointed towards the back wall(Subs can be moved 1-2 feet from back wall).
Or should I orient them so that two woofers are pointed at one another(Will this cancel out the bass?) and the other two woofers are pointed towards the side walls?

The Manual recommends a DB1 be oriented such that the woofers are pointed towards the side walls but also suggests that it may be desirable to orient them the other way, so it really tells me nothing. It also offers no advice on dual sub orientation.

I realize the best way is to try it out, and I will do that, but wanted to hear some opinions first.

Thanks

Try both and see what you like better. I doubt it will make a difference that is significant.

My dealer oriented my 2 DB1's when he installed them pointing at one another because according to him that was the better way. It might be different in your room so try both ways. Maybe you should contact Patrick Butler (B&W US) on the B&W thread on AVS or HTGUIDE and ask for his opinion.

Josh Ricci noted that response should not be effected by orientation in this measurement article. Since your placing in a stereo setup ( and not as a smoothing setup), go with aesthetics.

Thanks, good advice from all.

Yea I can't notice any difference based on orientation. Sounds buttery smooth from any angle. A real treat to listen to, and look at:D

So go with the one you prefer the look of in the room. If all sound is the same then make sure your eyes are as happy as your ears.
