Is the Yamaha RX-V2600 dts HD compliant?

Before I buy the Yamaha RX-v 2600, can anyone say for sure if it will decode dts HD or DD True HD, or failing that, would there be any downloadable updates that can be utilised once dts HD is in the market. A few outlets I've checked out havn't been to sure about it. It seems a waste to buy the yamaha so close to all these new formats coming out and to not have them be compatable!

It will not decode it, but the players shoud have decoders built in and you can use the multichannel output on the new players to connect it to the 2600. Or if the player will decode and convert bitstream to PCM and send it to your receiver it will be fine. Otherwise you will have to wait a while for a new receiver.

I thought there was mention of them either being backwards compatible or the discs would also contain tracks that are. The first gen players will also most likely all have multichannel outputs.

The discs may have DTS-HD and Regular DTS, but the questions was will a Yamaha RX-V2600 decode the new formats, and the answer is no.
