Ok, I know a few of you fellows have this disc.
What are your thoughts on it, compared to #9?

I still have not watched it all the way through yet (#10).
But what I have watched was pretty good, but not as good as #9.

Mainly for the reason, that there is not enough ES and 96/24 material.
At this point I still say #9 is the best demo disc.
But I could see where some of you find #10 better (due to what clips are used)
I did find the F4 clip to be better mastered than what is on the F4 DVD.
The Sparks trailer is also cool, but rather short IMO.

I have seen a ton (well not a ton) of demo discs (inc. DTS, DD, THX), #9 is still my favorite.
Do you fellows have a favorite, if so which one?
(I just may pick it up)

I've got 10, it's okay, but like you said 9 is better. 10 is more like 8. To me
there are much better scenes that could have been used, but I'm spoiled
since I make my own demos.

Explain.

I work at Best Buy, and having a demo disk would rock.

I don't know how BB works...

I get demo discs all the time.

DTS, THX and Monster send them to me. I haven't gotten DTS #10 yet though. I have #9 and another one they sent me. It has 3 songs on it in 3 different formats, regular, ES 6.1, and 96/24. The THX one has a few different scene selections in it, as well as most of the THX/DTS/DD intros. Monster sends the majority of them. I've gotten blues demos, christmas, rock, a 3 Doors Down concert that had 3 different surround mixes in it, another one of this jazz singer guy that got stolen, I forgot the guy's name, and many others. Some of them have the surround and stereo recording so you can show the difference. It is pretty handy! :)

How is it that they "send" them to you? Do you need something special to get them? I want THX demo disks.

I've never asked for them, they just show up at the store. Actually, the last set of Monster demos I got came from a Monster rep, who was visiting. You might want to talk to your department manager and see if there is a way to get them for your store.

I have #9 now(DTS), but my stupud DVD player doesn't read the DTS on it.

I still want a THX one.

I think the peter gabril track on #10 is very good but #9 is better overall, the swedish radio track is great. I just recieved a Dolby Digital demo disc in the mail, direct from dolby labs and it is very good, serious bottom end!!

snagged a #10 via ebay the other day.. .kinda wish it was #9, I'll have to snag a vol 9 now :)

I'd rather have one of these DVDs then swapping DVD to DVD to look at specific scenes.

I'm suprised the scene from the Matrix when they walk in to the federal military building isn't included... perhaps it's on an older volume... as that has some really nice mixing of the music with the action on the screen, coupled with the concrete and bullets fliying around the screen.

You know what would be nice?

An audio soundtrack of the DTS Alive! #10 disc.

That song "Listen Up!" by Omar Hakim is off da chain!

Can anyone rip that song into a digital format? It's not on either one of his 2 records...

I just checked the DTS Demo disk #9 track listing. What is the big deal, I already own all of those titles, the films listed that is, why not just use the actual DTS to demo?

What software do you guys use to create your own demo disks? Besides just having one disc to load to test/show off your system, I can't really think of any reason to pay $70 for a DTS Demo Disk (ebay listing price)

The Demo Disk's are usually tweaked even more. The Blue man group video on #9 has much more bottom end then the CD version.
