DTS-Audio Question?

I have a Denon 3805 reciever and want to play DTS-Audio cd's. My question is if I put in a DTS-Audio CD (not a DTS DVD) into my standard sony cd player will it send the DTS info to my receiver via the optical connection or do I have to have a DVD player to play DTS-Audio cd's? I heard that any redbook audio player will pass the DTS-Audio info via the digital cable? Is this true?

I've heard a similar concern before. Funny, I should try this out since my CD players outs digitally. But I often use my DVD player to play DTS CD without really considering this option. It could be. Will report on this.

With you set-up yes it will play DTS-Audio.

If you have a CD palyer and use the digital output to your AMP, it will play DTS-Audio CD's. No need to play them through a DVD player.

Thanks for the thought, Ben. Will try this out when I get back to my set-up.
