Howdy all, thanks for the ongoing help Re: my soundcard in my other thread.

Related to that I am dropping att uVerse in favor of an all Internet based Television environment.

I have Chosen XBMC for my Media Software and have no problem building the PC, I do have one (maybe two) questions though:

I need a TV Tuner ATSC (at least) that will allow me to record OTA HD.

I have all the other pieces except the Tuner card and a Remote (<- yet another thread).

any thoughts?

EDIT: Crap! I need an OTA Antennae as well!!!

My HD ota antenna is ~6 feet of old speaker wire taped to the co-ax. Works better than my old powered antenna lol.

Funny... I just returned a powered HD antenna that was supposed to be incredible - because it wasn't better than my previous one... which was just an extra FM antenna from an old receiver (it already had the terminator on it and was free). ;)

interesting.

I have about 1000' combined feet of Coax, about 800 from when my house was built and about 200 RG (56??) from my uVerse installation.

I am ALL about homemade everything, especially if I save enough to throw anther HDD in the RAID array :)

There are some posts over on avsforums about custom built antennas. It seems like one of those projects that you don't save a lot of money doing, but can be fun (if your twisted like most of us here lol).
