Driving your system with an mp3 player.

I realize that MP3s are not an optimum way to reproduce sound. However, it works for me. In my old age of 80, I can barely hear the difference between a 128 mp3 file and a flac file. So, I wanted stop using ipods to drive my stereo systems in my own home and garages. I looked at Amazon and found something purported to play my mp3s.
Here it is:

It costs 23 bucks. It is the best 23 bucks I have spent on stereo equipment in a long time. It comes with a remote. I had a couple of 32 gb little memory cards laying around. I filled one with my favourite stuff and let it rip. It sounds great to me. Easy and simple to use. You get a single line out for your stereo.
I have several systems going in my home and garages. I am going to buy 3 more of these. The only thing missing is the 12 volt power supply. Those are cheap.
I realize I could have used a bluetooth decoder, but I do not want to use my phone. I could have spent a lot more on a tablet etc. This 23 bucks was cheap and the product is so simple to install and operate.

BTW, my hobby is repairing and making the old 70s stuff play again like they were new. The problem is that I have gone to too many garage sales. I have too many great speakers, and receivers. I am retired and have the time for this hobby. I don't go to garage sales anymore because I can't stop myself from buying an old silver face stereo or speaker with at least a 12 inch woofer. My best system in my listening room has an AR SRT380 speakers with 15 inch woofers and driven by a Crown 800 amp with 425 watts per channel. The speakers are only rated to 300 watts. I never turn them up very loud anyway.

I just thought I would pass on this info about this inexpensive mp3 players for those oldsters like me with 70s stereo equipment.

Great to hear you are doing what you like, and not what some "expert" tells you is the right thing to do. Just Enjoy Life! ;)

I keep an RCA to 1/8" adapter plugged into the Aux port on the living room receiver for my wife so that she can plug in her old iPod Nano. Still works fine. :)
