DPR 1001 Question

I know the DPR 1001 is a little old now days, but does anyone have one and know if it upconverts from S-video to Component?

It does not. Even the newer DPR-2005 does not. I wish it did though.

I have another question.

I'm a bit new with the whole Quality Home Audio thing. I know Harman/Kardon is a good name, but in the manual for the DPR 1001, they only rate the output channels for 8ohms. Does this mean it's not good at driving speakers with 6 or even 4 ohm impedence?
