Downgrading due to WAF!!!!

Thought I would blow off a little steam here.....

due to low WAF I will now be downgrading my system. The wife wants small speakers for our system due to our current room size. I have always told her that it would be silly to buy an inferior system now and then once we move, which should be in a year max 3, have to buy all new things for the larger room. There is no reasoning with her about this as she "hates" the big speakers....

What I currently have.

Yamaha RXV-650
JBL E 10 for surrounds
JBL E 20 for fronts
JBL EC 25 for center
JBL E 150 for sub

to her this is overkill

the room that houses this is 11'10" by 11'7" with the roof inclining from 8' to 11'.

So now time to see if I can sell this and then its a HTIB with cubes...

Man I am sorry, that sucks. But use this opportunity to shop around for smaller speakers, many companies make really good sounded satellites, some you may find to sound better than your current system. My advice: take the wife with you, and let her listen to the speakers as well, then arrive at a compromise. Man am I glad my Girlfriend told me that she does not care what the speakers look like, as long as they sound good. . . She's a keeper :D

Your wife should be more understanding of your passion.

Get some balls man. Sorry but I love my girlfriend more than anything but would never compromise my passion. And besides, she would never even think of asking something like that in the first place even though I know she hates my towers because she knows how important my HT is to me and it makes me happy.

Relationships are about compromise. Give and take. Tell her she can decorate any other room. I can't believe you guys sometimes.

Oh man. That sucks. Well, an option might be Anthony Gallo. Of course, you should try to be a man and make a comprimise to save your system. It's bookselves for cryin' out loud!

I'm with Johnny Canuck. There has to be some compromise in a relationship. If you are doing all the giving up there is no balance. Have you no kojones.

Yo tengo grande cojones!

The problem with this whole situation is the wife already compromised by accepting the HT to begin with. She didnt want it at all. Its not about being ball-less....I am wondering how many are saying to get a pair are married ;)

If you don't mind a little DIY project, check out the current project on the Parts Express project board...I think it would fit nicely into your situation. They are called the Lytle Five Points :D

I had the same problem with my wife. I just said,

"Women! This is how it's going to be......." and then it got dark and I don't remember much after that. All I know is that now everytime she claps her hands twice I black out and when I wake up the lawn is mowed, the dished are done, the dog's bathed, the pool is cleaned and it's always the next day?

Get some cohones man!

Although I'm twice married neither divorce was because of my audio hobby. I did make damn sure that they both knew of my passion prior to marriage. My second wife was ambivalent about my audio thing but knew that it was something that I would not give up. The first wife played music louder than I did.

Say this often and as loudly as possible ......

A good HT is a work of the gods. A wife can be easily replaced.

Your local emergency room can fix most anything that will happen to you.
